What is The Blogger Recognition Award?
The Blogger Recognition Award is created by bloggers for bloggers. It’s a way of giving them recognition for their work and to promote them to the blogging community.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post on your site displaying the award and why you started your blog.
- Write two pieces of advice for new bloggers.

Why I Started Blogging
I started my blog around April 2018 and I originally intended to write about my gluten-free lifestyle and provide lots of recipes and tips. As my mental health began to deteriorate I decided to change the direction of my blog and share my story with everyone. I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the supportive blogging community and it’s so lovely when I get messages thanking me and telling me that others feel the same way as I do.
I can honestly say that blogging has paid a huge part in my recovery, particularly in regards to the depression that I was suffering from. My blog gave me a reason to get up and go out to get pictures and ideas for my posts at a time when I really needed something to motivate me.
Advice for New Bloggers
Write about something you feel passionate about – If you’re not passionate about what you’re writing about it will show in your writing. Just because you think your readers would enjoy a post doesn’t mean you have to write that post. Write whatever you want to, blogging should be fun!
Just keep writing – When I first started my blog I was lucky if one person read it but I carried on. I was writing for myself and I was enjoying it. If you’re struggling with people reading your blog or from writer’s block, just keep writing! So often I struggle to write a post but I do my best to create a draft. Once I have a draft I’ll treat myself to a cup of tea and then come back to it and I find that by then I’m usually over my writer’s block and I can edit the post until I’m happy with it.
I’m useless at nominating people so I’m afraid I’m not going to make it to 15! The 5 blogs below are ones that I myself enjoy reading so go ahead and have a little look at them. Also feel free to do this via Twitter as I know some of the blogs I am tagging don’t tend to publish content like this 🙂
