Meet the Author: Elizabeth Holland — The Picky Bookworm

I did an interview with The Picky Bookworm. Please take a moment to have a read, drop a comment and give her a follow. I had the very great pleasure of meeting Elizabeth on Twitter, and she asked for a review of her book. I haven’t had a chance to get to it yet, but wanted to get to know her a bit better, and asked her if she would be willing to give me an interview. She was… via Meet the Author: Elizabeth Holland — The Picky Bookworm   My Books Instagram  Twitter  Pinterest Facebook XOXO

    25 things in 25 years

25 things in 25 years I’ve seen a number of these posts around and with my 26th birthday approaching I wanted to set out 25 things that I have achieved in 25 years. I know most of you will probably be screaming through your screens at me right now but 26 seems quite scary and adult-like! Am I too young to already start lying about how old I am? Anyways, here are 25 things that I have achieved in 25 years. 1. Completed my degree and masters I may not have decided to forge a career in law, however my proudest achievement in life is obtaining both my degree and my…

    Living Room Renovation

Living Room Renovation Mid-April will be 6 months since we completed on our home and I cannot believe how quickly it has gone. We’ve crammed a lot into that six months and the place is unrecognisable from when we first got the keys. There’s still lots more to do and things to buy but this will be a slower process as it’s the finishing touches and I want everything to be just right. Instead of waiting until I have every room completely finished I wanted to share the living room transformation with you now.   There’s still things to do such as taking up the curtains, buying curtain hold-backs, hiding…

    Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

In an ideal world we would spend every day showing our other half our love and appreciation towards them, however all too often life gets in the way. Because of this Valentine’s Day can be the perfect reminder to make a little extra effort. Whether you want to go out and celebrate with all the other couples or stay in together, the choice is yours. It’ll be mine and my boyfriend’s 5th Valentine’s Day together and we’ve celebrated in all kinds of ways. Some years we’ve gone for meals out and others we’ve opted to stay in. This year I’m definitely leaning towards just staying in and enjoying some good…

    Bathroom Renovations (Part 1)

I’ve been stuck between wanting to show everyone the renovations but also wanting to wait until the rooms are completely finished. However, funds have run dry and we’re enjoying a little break from weekend DIY and so I thought I would share the bathroom renovations with you in this post. The bathroom is one of my favourite rooms as it’s the closest to being finished, it just needs a few finishing touches. I’m proud to say that it is now a relaxing and clean space, as opposed to the tired and grubby bathroom that we first walked in to. When we first viewed the flat we were well aware that…

Life Catch Up (Mental Health & Career)

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog lately you will probably have realised that it’s somewhat lost its personal touch. Instead I wanted to remove myself from the adjustment and post some things that got me into the Christmas spirit. You can find my Christmas Gift Guides Here: Christmas Gift Guide – Her Christmas Gift Guide – Him Christmas Gift Guide – Him and Her Christmas Gift Guide – Stocking Fillers Christmas Gift Guide Books 1 Christmas Gift Guide Books 2 Christmas Gift Guides Books 3   I’m…

    Gratitude Interview

I was recently contacted my Gratitude Space and asked if I would do an interview for them focusing on gratitude and what I am grateful for. I immediately jumped at the chance to talk about gratitude.   When you’re suffering with mental health problems (or physical) it can be all too easy to throw yourself a pity party and bask in your misery. However, gratitude is something that can help you see that there’s more to life than just your problems.   If you would like to read the interview you can find it here or copy and paste the following link https://www.gratitudespace.com/gratitudeandliz/   I’d love for you to drop a comment…

Moving House when suffering with your Mental Health

You may have noticed that I’ve been a little absent on my blog lately. I tried to keep up with Blogtober but found I was falling behind answering your comments and reading other’s blogs. As I felt my mental health begin to spiral out of control I knew I needed to take a break from certain things in my life. My list of things to do was endless and so unfortunately blogging had to be the thing to go for a little while. I took a break from my blog and told you all that I would be back soon. I’ve been trying to write some pieces in my drafts…

    Mental Health Misconceptions

Mental health is a difficult topic to understand, even those of us who are going through it are learning every day. I thought today I would share with you the top 5 misconceptions that I have encountered with my mental health problems. It’s okay not to understand mental health completely but the misconceptions below demonstrate people’s sheer ignorance – please don’t be like these people.   Once you’ve been sick you’ll realise there’s nothing wrong with it As a sufferer of emetophobia I am terrified of vomiting or seeing others vomit (you can read more about it here). I often have people tell me that once I’ve experienced it, I…
